“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”
Matthew 7:3
Yes, we are all guilty of hypocrisy. It is easy to point the finger at others and forget we often behave in the same manner. What is it exactly that makes us be so hypocritical? Well, if you take a step back and try to analyze the behavior, you can see how much easier it is on your ego to take fault away from yourself and place it elsewhere. After all, no one wants to find fault with themselves. It seems to make us feel better to push aside our own inadequacies, and focus on others.
We must strive daily to always think before we speak. To show kindness and love to All of God's children. To not judge. To walk in the path of righteousness with our Lord Jesus as our guide. To shine the light from our heart as a beacon to the lost. We must love and allow ourselves to BE loved. Fight the good fight and know in the end our reward is beyond measure.
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58
